THY-558Ni2 (E81T8-Ni2-J) is a low-alloy steel self-shielded flux-cored wire. Suitable for all-position welding, particularly vertical-down progression, it offers exceptional low-temperature impact toughness without requiring external shielding gas.

  • Self-shielded (innershield) flux-cored design requiring no external shielding gas
  • Exceptional all-position capability, specifically optimized for high-speed vertical-down welding
  • Superior low-temperature impact toughness at -40°C ("J" classification) enhanced by ~2% Nickel content
  • High tensile strength (80 ksi / 550 MPa class) with excellent crack and defect resistance
  • Fast-freezing slag with easy removal, producing clean and uniform weld beads
